500g hickory nuts or pecans
100g butter diced in ½ inch cubes
10g salt
- Place hickory nuts, butter, and salt on an unlined sheet pan.
- Cook at 325 for 5 minutes, remove the nuts from teh oven and stir well. Cook the nuts for an additional 5 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the oven and stir the nuts again, then allow them to cool at room temperature, so the nuts can absorb the butter.
- When the nuts are cool, chop them fine, and transfer to a deli for storage in the pantry.
