Burnt Vanilla

 

Vanilla skelletons (pods that have been previously emptied of their seeds)

 

  1. Place vanilla skelletons in a single layer on a half sheet pan. Place in a 325 degree oven and toast for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, remove the sheet pan from the oven and allow to cool on a speed rack. When vanilla beans are cooled to room temperature, place them in a very dry vita prep cup. Blend until the vanilla is powderized.
  2. Sift and store in a deli in the pantry.
